My 3 week old has dry skin on his feet.
The health visitor said to use breast milk on it which I've tried a few times but it's done naff all π
I know not to use lotions and stuff on them this young so any other ideas how I could help moisturise it?

My little boys skin was like this when he was born. Midwife advised putting coconut oil on it and itβs all cleared up now x

My health visitor said I can you lotion but not all time thou

This is perfectly normal according to our midwife. She told us to leave it and it would eventually go x

@Cassie yeah it is normal my daughter had it literally everywhere and most of it gone now x

My midwife said use a tiny amount of rapeseed oil on dry skin x

When my daughter was like that I used to put baby oil in her bath and Johnson baby lotion after a bath worked a treat! The dry skin was gone in no time xx

thank you, good to know!

oh I was following the NHS advice not to use any until they're at least one month x

great, thank you! Figured it was normal but I did think it might be irritating him a bit but if not I'll just leave it x

I thought they would do the trick but baby too young for them yet xx

Normal :) ive just been using the aveeno baby moisturiser after his bath, its more or less gone now x

100% use coconut oil. My little ones skin was very dry and I popped it on her and the next day it was loads better. I just rubbed it in when she was sleeping xx

I've used neals yard organic baby oil on both of mine when they started shedding, it's perfectly normal, and just their skin adjusting to being outside of the womb. Avoid baths, and lotions, but natural oils are great used sparingly

I used aveeno. Different HV give different messages. Aveeno baby worked for my LG π

Like Heather said, it's just their skin getting used to life outside the womb. My boy has had it for about 2 weeks now. We bath him once a week and use lotion sometimes (it's fine as long as you don't use it everyday) and it's been clearing up nicely. Just give it some time.
