Anyone know the reason why I can’t have fan on baby? I had it circulating during the night and briefly touched baby is this ok? It was so hot

I think as long as it’s not directly on them it’s ok. It’s to do with their breathing I believe

Because babies can't regulate their own temperature yet. I don't know about you but I really struggled myself last night I had a cold shower and as soon as I stepped out I was already sweating, that's what a fan on baby would be like but a lot worse. It could chill them so once moved away from fan they would very very quickly overheat x

so is it ok when it’s oscillating to briefly touch them? Like not constantly on them x

All research I've seen just says don't have fan on baby so I don't, I have mine spinning but it doesn't quite reach his cot just our bed. You can freeze a big bowl of water though and put it Infront of the fan which helps to cool the room rather than just circulate the warm air x

I've had our fan oscillating so it touches my babies feet. It's really helping her sleep. I don't let it touch her face, as they seem to hold their breath with any wind in their face. If you gently blow on your babies face youll see what i mean.

We have a fan on oscillating but the other side of the bed to her next to me so it moves the air above and cools the room. The only time it touches her is when I'm feeding her.
