Copper coil
Hey
I am due to get the copper coil and concerned about some side effects .
The sexual health clinic advises mainly heavier period and more cramping however I have come across a Facebook page where it seems alot of ladies are getting alot of other problems/symptoms and alot mention copper toxicity. The advisor said they had never heard of this when I raised my concerns.
I feel that the ladies that have had the coil are the best ones to ask.
Please can people share good or bad experiences
I know every one responses differently to conception but I don't want to make a mistake of getting it if it does cause more problems that advised

I’ve had the copper coil since February and I had a couple heavier and longer periods and no cramping but now I’m back to how I was before pregnancy and I have no side effects what do ever x
I had the copper coil put in a few months ago and I am having super super heavy periods. A little more cramping but nothing unmanageable. I’m giving it a couple more months to settle before considering taking it out but period’s definitely are heavier. No other symptoms or side effects though! x
I got the copper coil a few years back & I honestly wish I’d never done it. It was really painful going in then after it, I literally couldn’t sit down. If I sat down I was in excruciating pain. The only thing I could do was lie down. This lasted days to the point I had to call in sick at work cause I couldn’t sit on the chair. I didn’t think it was in right and had made an appointment cause of this. I also had some concerns as the wires that hang Down were right at my entrance. When I went in they told me everything was fine, no issues but she’d shorten the wires for me. Cut the first one then went to do the second one and yanked the coil out. She then apologised and said it obviously wasn’t in right then as I’m sat in a pool of blood. Since then id absolutely never recommend getting it as I’m scarred 😂😂
I’ve had since February/March and periods were really heavy until this month.
Settled down now. Still heavy but manageable. I do get cramping. But nothing major.
No other symptoms or side effects xx
