Drinking cup

What is everyone using to get their little one to drink water? All the cups just seem to complex. I've tried a couple of Tommee Tippee ones and she can't seem to get the water out, I've tried a Nuby non spill one and it's too heavy for her to tip and I've tried just a normal open cup- she can drink out of this with help (which I'm not opposed to doing) however she wants to do it herself and spills it everywhere, again isn't a problem but then means she isn't getting any water.
She is 6 and a half months.

We use the doidy one which is great. Is there any reason you don’t want to help her with it? We also have a tum tum straw cup which she has been doing really well with too. It’s valve free and so much better for them and also easier x

We also have the tum tum, it’s taken a bit of time for him to get used to it, but he’s great now!

it should say not opposed 🤦🏼‍♀️ but she wants to do it herself. I want to help her, but she reaches for it to do it herself and isn't pleased when I try to guide her. Thank you. I'll have a look for the Tum Tum one. X

Ah that makes more sense 😅 I know it’s messy, but it doesn’t matter too much about how much she’s actually drinking at the moment, and she will learn eventually!

Is it this one you both have?

haha! I'm absolutely not against helping my baby 😅 yes it is and it's fine that she spills it but it's been warm recently and I just don't want her to get dehydrated. I also read that if they don't get enough water on solids (she's formula fed) then it can cause digestion problems and I again don't want that for her x

Tum tum is great. My wee boy loves his water from his cup

Tum tum without a doubt x

That’s the one! I was also looking at getting one of these for at home:

Not sure if anyone has used this version?

We use the doidy cup, baby holds one side and I hold the other! Only downside everytime I drink near him he reaches for my cup 🤣 x

Tum Tum also. Took her about 2 weeks to get it then we heated the water a little to room temp and she hasn’t turned back since! Loves it now.

We got the Tum Tum but she just seems to chew the straw. Is this how they normally start?

Avatar

Have seen people say they put a bit of yoghurt on the top of the straw so they suck and then they realise what to do

Avatar

I think my little one picked it up quickly, but I imagine it may just take a little while! I hope it works for you!

My son just messed about with the end at first and then he just started getting the idea, for the first day when he realised he was able to suck up the water but not far enough to get to his mouth and then he just picked it up, honestly persevere and it’ll happen, not all babies are the same, mines just 7 month and not sitting where as some at 5 month are x
