So I’ve just spoke to my GP for the 2nd time as my baby boy is 9 weeks old tomorrow and still not been given an appointment for immunisations or my 6 week check. They are going to call me in the morning with an appointment. I’m just wondering how everyone’s little ones got on with their first vaccinations? What should I expect and is there anything I can do to help him?

I’m in the same situation , my little girl is 10 weeks old tomorrow and I still haven’t been given an appointment either or a check for myself 🥱 x

Give him some calpol before you go I didn't but the nurse said you can give it them either 1 hour before and 1 hour after my little girl was unsettled for a few days and sleeping more but the heat didn't really help though, give him plenty of cuddles and he should be fine in a few days 💙

Not to scare you but my little one took an allergic reaction to one of them, her face was covered in a red rash and all swollen. It calmed down after a few days and the GP wasn’t worried but of course I was!

Dress them in something that the nurse can do the injections in their thighs without you having to undress them (a romper or just a baby grow) that way you can cuddle and calm them down immediately without having to get them dressed afterwards! Definitely give them Calpol an hour after you get home and keep giving it every 4-6 hours until you are happy that your baby isn’t feverish or in pain!
