Swimming pools
Hello, I am visiting Newcastle this week with my baby for his first holiday. I was wondering if there are any pools that people can recommend for a 5 month old? I am staying in a hotel near the football stadium. Thanks so much 😌

Do you have transport? We can happily accommodate you in one of our baby classes this week. Super warm pool :)
For general public swimming can go to Gosforth leisure centre. Can attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays (book via the “Better” health app). £5.50 I think for 1 adult and 1 under 3. For us it’s always been warm enough for a 30 min splash around but it’s not a specific baby pool so not as warm as baby pools.
Paddle pod in Killingworrh and Shiremoor (think there’s also one at Whitley bay) are great baby pools. Lovely and warm, lots of under 1s. Book on via their website and find the “Open swim” sessions as they have a lot of swimming classes booked on certain times/days

- Baltic Centre Sensory Room. (At Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art on Level 2). Free and open 10am - 6pm Wednesday to Sunday
- Soft play area at the Discovery museum (also free)
- Storytelling at the city library 10:30 - 11:30 Mondays. Also free. (Also just a nice place to go even when the class isn’t on)
I’m flying in from Dublin so won’t have my own transport, just publin. I arrive Thursday evening and leave Tuesday morning. Thank you so much for the offer though 😊
Thank you so much for all these suggestions for babies, they all look great! Will definitely check out some of them. It’s my first holiday with a baby so it’s hard to know what to do with them so really appreciate all the suggestions 😃
