Birth weight and genetics will contribute alot, my friends daughter is 2 and she's the same height and more than double the weight of my 3 year old.
There's a year between them but looking at them you'd think they where same age

I 100% needed to see this tonight! I’ve been so anxious as people have said my little girl is small and petite which didn’t bother me at first but my mama anxiety set in and had me wondering. She can still fit in the odd 3 month clothes (she’s 6 nearly 7 month) she has all the rolls but doesn’t look as big as a lot of babies I know around the same age as her, I’ve been sooo paranoid about it. I’m so pleased this was put on tonight 😊

Don't ever feel like you're alone though! Your LG just sounds petite and that's 100% normal and okay. My LG is 9.5 months and gets confused for 1 cos she's a meathead🤣 but I know that's also 200% okay too! They're all unique <3

People will always comment whether its bad or good, but so long as you and baby are healthy and happy then I always just let it go in one ear and out the other

I needed to see this tonight. I struggle to look at my LG and see the healthy growing baby that everyone else seems to see, just constantly paranoid about her weight 😩

This is so so true, the amount of comments I have had that my lil boy is 'tiny'. Midwife even said at his first jabs 'I want to see more meat of these thighs next time'. Hes following his centile line and gaining nicely but peoples comments make you question everything 😬.

Fir context, my daughter was carried to full term but for whatever reason she wasn’t getting enough. Whff we n she was born she looked like the pic on the left but perfectly fine in every other area. As soon as she could she fed every half sn hour for the first 24hrs (bottle). She never went into special care as she THRIVED. She gained weight rapidly. She’s now 10years and perfectly normal.
Posting this for those who are worried about whether their babies are getting enough.

I think even with this it’s difficult for formula vs breastfeeding. I see so many “what 3 months of exclusively breastfeeding looks like” and their babies are so chunky. But then no one ever says anything about formula as in your baby can’t be a good weight if they have formula which is completely wrong.

My boy is on the larger side for height and weight and people always comment on how he will take longer to crawl/stand/walk
Then they see him move and realize he's just ahead for his age and doing just fine.

@Gabrielle my LO is formula fed, was always on the 50th percentile and thriving! I know some petite ff babies and chunkier ff babies and all of them are healthy with no concerns

I posted this because whether they are breast fed or formula fed, every child is different and grows different and that's perfectly ok

I think it states about the breast fed as most breastfed babies weight fluctuates a lot more than formula fed (from what my doctor and health visitor as said) and tat its also fine and normal for tat to happen x
