Hey mammas I’m due on the 6th November, I’m just wondering if anybody gave birth in BRI. And how much did they stick to everybody’s birthing plan. I’m trying to make it as comfortable as possible as my phobia of hospitals is out of this world.

They stick to it. They really stick to it as much as possible unless medical emergency. For example i had put on there do not allow me an epidural without my partners go ahead as i may ask for it out of fear but he will know when i defo want it. I wanted to do a birth with just gas and air.
I was induced and when that drip hit and those contractions hit. I was screaming for an epidural but my nurse still calmly and quietly told me shes going to go get my husband and follow my birth plan. I got mad at her but at the same time that was the pain talking i was actually so happy she said that because it showed how much she stuck to it

I feel really demanding on the birth plan😅like reading through it I feel like I’m asking for the world😂

I’ve been looking into making a birthing plan. But not sure what kind of things to put on there, what kind of things have you put?

mainly what I want to happen such as during labour id like to play my own music and to be able to move around freely. Just things to make my experience as comfortable as possible.
For my during delivery I’ve put simple things like:
- wanting my partner to catch the baby
- I want my partner to cut the cord when it’s time to do so
- I want my partner present at all times
And for things for my after delivery it’s things like:
- i plan to to combine feeding
- if there are any complications with me or the baby I would like my partner to be consulted
- I’d like to delay newborn procedures to give me and my partner bonding time with baby
Just make it as your own. There’s nothing wrong you can put on there just make it comfortable for you❤️

a cousin of mine recently gave birth about 8 months ago, a trainee did her epidural and took 3 attempts and it still went wrong, someone else that wasn’t a trainee took over, do you think me writing that I wouldn’t like a trainee to do the epidural if I request one is unacceptable?

Thank you for all the ideas. I’m writing mine up now. Thank you

absolutely! You can ask to have no trainees in the room during your labour. I can send you some templates if you’d like xx

oh would you🥹 that would be perfect, thank you!! 💖

these are pretty much a given anyway so they will most likely follow them. I just want to say try not to get too attached to how you think your labour will go, you'll only be disappointed if it doesn't go the way you planned and labour is so unpredictable. I had the opposite of everything I wanted and felt a bit robbed of the experience I thought I would have, so just try to be open minded and make sure you prepare yourself mentally for other outcomes

All your things sound straight forward and should be fine. ☺️
However I will add, if you’ve ever delivered a baby (I have) or seen a baby be born they are slippery little suckers and come out so quickly, your midwife will be there coaching you on your pushing/breathing so I wouldn’t get hung up on your partner catching the baby part as the midwife will need to be down there doing their job and it’s so slippy and quick when they come out that could be something not feesable.
I’m giving birth at Bradford due in 4 weeks and haven’t even done a birthing plan yet 🥴
I’m trying to keep an open mind. What will be will be. Everything can change so quickly. My pregnancy has been a mix of info and expectations just I’m trying to stay open about my birth lol x
