Just as a suggestion maybe there's a privacy setting that you need to change to allow nonpaid members to message you? I'm not sure. They have that on some other apps so is worth a mention.
I’ve had this happen when someone’s account is deleted/deactivated
I have this but the it's the actual message before I can click it. So it's on the list of names and it's brightened up unlike the others? I also have a thing where I don't have anyone blocked but I click someone's page from my messages. The names gone, pictures still there and it says try again.. am I blocked?
did you figure this out? i have had then same thing its saying her last message was hidden and her profile seems gone when i click it.

If you swiped on your conversation and it deleted it, are you able to get the messages back to communicate with that person?
If I read right one of you have paid for the premium version and the other hasnt and that's why that is happening. That is what Google said anyway
