Tummy time troubles!
Is anyone experiencing trouble with tummy time? Little one just doesn't seem interested and he's nearly 12 weeks. He will sometimes lift his head a bit but he's constantly got his fists in his mouth so he does that when on his front or just cries. He seems a bit happier doing it when laid on me if I lay back a little. I feel bad that I don't try it as often anymore.

Our LG is not a fan of it, exactly like yours she is sucking her fingers. I just leave her to stay on her tummy and do whatever she likes as long as is on her belly. Sometimes when we are encouraging her to lift her head she gets very upset, sometimes she turns and lift up on her own. I guess when they are too bored there is the progress coming.
@Alex I'm glad I'm not the only one going through it! I'll keep trying and see what happens!
My 11 week old hates it she's getting a little better and lasting more than a minute 🤣 do a lot over my shoulder so she has really good head support
My first was exactly the same and I was so worked up as everything online said it was essential for them to meet milestones of sitting etc. we managed to actually do it about 3 times and that was with him screaming throughout. He’s now 2 and it never impacted anything, so I wouldn’t be worried about it. Your baby will be doing it a lot more than you realise without the stress of leaving them to flap about on the mat xxx
@Jess bless you 🤣 yeah he's really good with his head when I'm holding him he has pretty good control of it, just doesn't love tummy time!
@Caro yes I've got the nuby tummy time pillow and he just seems to push with his legs and face plants the floor bless him 🤣

My little boy was amazing at tummy time as a baby (2.5 now) and his little friend never tolerated it at all, and they are both strong boys, made no difference ☺️
@Rebecca that's good then! Health visitor scared me and said if he doesn't build strength with tummy time he won't be able to lift his head when he rolls over, I have enough anxiety as it is!
I actually would say if anything my little boy was a little slower than his friend in doing things they’re all different, try not to worry ☺️
Literally only been last couple of days my LO has started enjoying it more. Just was told to keep trying, even if its a tiny bit, after changing nappy so it becomes abit routine and now she has started to lift her head more on play mat x
I'll keep giving It a go!
My boy is 13 weeks and hates it! And he sleeps through the night now so more at risk of flat spots on his head. Not sure how to get him to enjoy tummy time
