Itchy skin/ stretch marks/ self care

I have no idea what is going on?! I started experiencing a lot of utching around certain areas i.e my calves, breasts, inside arms, back of hands, bikini line area of thighs, thighs, and butt. My belly being the worst of them all and the bumps/ spot like blobs don't go away whereas in the other areas they disappear after a while and are more proniunced when I itch them. My belly is most itchy in the area below the belly button.

Been told they are typical in stretch marks but I can't see any stretch marks, as my skin is dark in some parts it looks like I have the very faint/ light stretching marks.

Will these develop into stretch marks eventually?
Will starting to apply bio oil or some other stretch mark cream be any use? I stopped when it got too hot but my usual routine involves heavy moisturising body creams ...

When you scratch you can create stretch marks, bio oil is meant to be really good for that but I’d look into other creams and different products also if it’s a concern. With the itching, I know you mentioned it’s on your belly (which is usually normal as it’s stretching outwards) but because you’ve got it elsewhere, id bring it up with your midwife x

I suffered with itching around my belly and lower back during my first trimester so I bought some Aveeno body wash, think it was the yogurt one or oat one….I can’t quite remember but it really soothed it and stopped the itching almost straight away xx

I'll bring it up with my midwife at my appointment so she can look at my belly too tomorrow. Yeah, I will stock up on aveeno, bio oil, and maybe E45. I can't always tell if I have dry skin on my body - I think it changes with the seasons ha.

Thank you both for your responses!

I’ve been having itchy stretch marks too, especially on my tummy and I asked my midwife, she said it was totally normally because the skin is irritated from the stretching so it’s normal that they can feel itchy. She also said it’s normal for other areas of your skin to feel itchy too as there are so many hormones rushing around your body, it can make your skin feel different! I put on bio oil now and some stretch mark moisturiser just go help with the irritation and try not to wear clothes that are too clingy for too long 😊

aaa thanks terrible to happen just as am becoming larger lol but logically the perfect time! What cream are you using? Skin feels like am in someone else's body - I can handle the itch if it wont GUARANTEED lead to stretch marks because I'll be a proper zebra afterwards minus the coordinating colours.
You know what, I am barely clithed at home but when am out, I havent purchased any maternity clothes so been in dresses and tights mainly as needed so this akso be something!

it only happened to me when I was about 30+ weeks and getting to my largest, it’s not fun that’s for sure ahah! I’m using palmers stretch mark cream, I find that works best on my skin! I haven’t got stretch marks everywhere I’ve been itching, you might not get them everywhere but good to just put the cream everywhere just to help ease the itching. But clothes will play a big part in how your skin feels, maybe just try changing to maternity tights to start as that may help and then you don’t need to buy all new clothes

will be good if I don't get them everywhere I've been itching especially as an itch spreads if you don't stop yourself! Same, it only started in my 34th week and probably got worse in 35th week.

It is much calmer by the end of this week. Was itching/exfoliating my calves this morning in the bath but nothing else since that time. The itching am feeling now is due to my fitted dress but not unbearable 🙄
