Birth certificate question. Child support/court!!

If the fathers name is NOT on the birth certificate can you still claim child support ?? I’m thinking about taking my baby’s dad to court but I don’t know how that will be affected by the certificate! Does it matter at all ? I’m in Toronto Canada

I'm not entirely sure but you might just need a paternity test if he denies it.

I believe you will have to prove paternity if not on the birth certificate. And if you put him on child support he could potentially ask and be granted partial custody of the child.
