Mat leave

I went on mat leave at 33 weeks as I couldn’t handle the constant get go of work and was having too much back pain sickness etc. you just have to listen to your body and you’ll know what’s best for you

I’m a teacher and I’m planning on working another 2 weeks until Friday 29th at that point I’ll be 37 weeks and 5 days. Im starting to struggle now too but want to keep myself busy for as long as possible

I was meant to finish on the 29th but I've been struggling so I'm finishing tomorrow. Mat leave officially starts for me now on the 18th xx

I was going to go to 38 aswell but I've just brought it forward to 37, if I feel this big at 35 + 5 weeks then another 2 and a bit is gonna be too much! 😅

3 weeks to go and I'll be nearly 37 weeks.

I’m also a teacher and have two more weeks to go until my mat leave which will take me to 38 weeks. I am also struggling at the moment.

I'm a teacher and main earner. I'm working till the 29th (making me 38weeks + 6) and being induced on the 1st 😭. If I could afford to I'd be off now I'm 37 Saturday. I'm really struggling too.

I’m a teacher too - I brought my mat leave forward 2 weeks as I’m really struggling to actually do my job now. Even thinking is difficult I’m so exhausted. I’m being induced at 37+3 so I’m finishing today to give myself a week of rest!

I’m going next Thursday at 37+1. I was going to go at 37+6 but my boss kept giving me awful shifts so I took another week annual leave. Due to start actual maternity leave at 39+5

I’m also a teacher! I was meant to finish on 29th at 38+4 but I’ve brought it forward a week to the 22nd. The 29th just didn’t feel achievable and now it’s only 5 more get ups!! I had been thinking about it all through the summer and I cannot tell you the relief I have felt since doing it. You know your body - do whatever you feel is best!

Not stopping until baby comes. I finish in the office on the 29th Sept (38 weeks) but gonna carry on until birth, from home. I’m a transport planner

I'm a teacher too and working until the 29th when I'll be 35+6. I was tempted to pick next week as my start date but didn't want to have too much time before if baby is late especially when (like others have said) our maternity pay isn't great. They have me covering other classes in school at the minute but I'm just taking it as easy as I can, sitting when needed etc.

I finish today. I'm 38 weeks and 2 days. Fellow teacher too.

I had the agreement with school that I would come back at the start of term as long as I wasn't on a full teaching timetable.

They stuck to it and I've just been doing admin duties and supporting the new team members/recording assessments.

I'm struggling because of the heat but counting down the last few hours.


BTW side note for any teachers if you haven't already, look at Teacher's SPL. (Shared parental leave). I paid the lady £55 and she has secured me a further 4 weeks full pay/4 weeks extra off, which means I only have one week at the end of the year with no pay before the summer pay/return kicks in. A lot of people don't know about it though.
