Mums/dads with ex’s and stepchildren
Hey. Not baby related just asking for suggestions.
My partner pays his child support as the gov guidelines. He also pays extra for school trips ,uniform, clubs, party’s, kids presents for friends etc
Sometimes the ex will give no notice on these items and demand the money straight away which my partner can not afford.
Anyway. How do you deal with paying for things like that.
We’re thinking of a prepaid card that we top up weekly but I wanted to see if there’s an easier way that we can do this and check where it’s going.

You could have a joint Monzo account he sends the money into as then he can see where it’s being spent x

Unless they do get a joint account as suggested above, I don't think there is really much you can do to find out how money is being spent. We've had a similar situation and its frustrating I know. With regard to the money being demanded straight away, we ended up going through the government service, they calculated everything for us, told us what needed paying and had to set a day for the money to go. Still technically only between us and the ex, but it was all officially sorted and if she then has an issue with when it comes she can go through that service and she'll have to accept that the date set is when she gets her money x
