Idk I keep taking him in and because the rash blanches they said it’s fine, just keep moisterising. It’s been like 3 weeks now!! And it’s not getting any better. We haven’t changed any of his body washes/clothes detergent or anything like that so idk what’s causing it!! But I keep taking him in and they keep saying it’s fine, the last time they said use the cream if it’s still really bad and I’ve been holding off but I feel defeated and might have to just use the cream.

They’re saying it’s eczema/dermatitis

It’s all over, and he’s been on the same formula since 2 months never had any issues. He’s almost 5 months now

We’ll all over except his legs šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Have you introduced solids? WhT wwre his first foods?
They will have prescribed him a low dose steroid/hydrocortisone so ā€œit’s fineā€ but… i would look at what the root cause is.
C section babies are definitely more prone to excema skin/allergy stuff.
Formula , is a weird name for a baby food isn’t it…. Anyway I’m a derm nurse but I’m also very alternative I would consult with a homeopath first before doing any medications. But my toddler and I just had influenza B and we didn’t even take a panadol because I think that’s not even that safe and effective so my views my be a bit different.

The reason I ask about first foods is … my son is/was sensitive to bananas and did break out (not until 1 year) and avocados Can have high histamine… and those are like the easy go tos

Nope just formula hence why I said formula. Sorry but that sounded rude?
Yeah I keep taking him in and they keep saying it’s fine 😩 so idk what else to do.
He was vaginally born but my partner has really bad eczema?

Do you suggest finding a different doctor? Or pushing for something more to be done/checked?

All good. I get what you mean.
Could just be hereditary then?
I think this is one for you to make the parenting call. … but tough; if it were me I wouldn’t seek any other medical opinions. I’d say just use the crĆØme and see if it helps? Maybe on a smaller area first? Or look into homeopathy/homeopathic practitioners

Avatar

What crĆØme is that?? Or do you mean the steroid cream?

Avatar

The steroid crĆØme.

We’re 6 months deep and it’s still ongoing….. join the facebook baby eczema group. We went of dermaid for now because the flare came back with a vengeance so you need to find a routine and cream that works best for your baby a good moisturiser, bath oil. Not all cream will work the same for every baby so you’ll find lots of mums have to try different ones. La Roche Posay coco last will probably be good for your baby on those areas

Cicaplast*

Usually this will last until they are at least 1 years old. It’s genetic, no cure for eczema just have to manage it best until it goes away. Allergist might be too early for now, most drs will just prescribe a steroid cream but you’ll find different doctors dermatologists will have different reccomendations. So for my baby we keep her in bamboo oeko tex fabric onsies, La Roche Posay cicaplast for the dry patchy areas or flare ups and a moisturiser for all over. Stay away from fragrances as well
