Showering in hospital after birth

Did anyone else not take a shower in the hospital after giving birth?! I feel like im the only one lol
I only stayed a night but as soon as i gave birth the midwives were forcing me to get up and wee and have a shower literally 2/3 hours after i gave birth, but i felt so weak i knew if i stood up i would faint. But they made me do it anyways and i tried standing up 2/3 times but each time i ended up sitting back down straight awat saying im going to black out as everything just went black. When i sat down i was fine. So they said ok try again in half hour so again this time they forced me and i made it to the toilet but as soon as i sat on the toilet i fainted and just remember waking up with everyone around me splashing water on my face lol
So they finally realised i wasnt just chatting crap:) they ended up just wiping me down and i put fresh clothes etc on. I didnt even brush my teeth the whole time i was there i was literally just in bed as i was really weak. When i came home the following day was when i showered and got all clean etc. so this time round i feel like im not even going to pack any toiletries apart from toothbrush but i feel like thats gross and they’ll judge me even though i know what my body is like and id rather get all clean at home and wash the ‘hospital’ off me at home?!

It was different for me, I had an emergency c section so didn't shower until the nurses had checked my stitches the day after I got home. We had a small toilet on our ward with a sink so this time i will probably just take toothbrush and toothpaste too. I didn't like the idea of leaving baby either.

They will be keek on you having a wee because they need to check that no damage to your bladder from labour which can be really serious but as for a shower that’s just totally your choice. I personally loved my shower I got my mum to just help me into the cubicle in my delivery room and it helped to rinse alot of blood off I just stood under the water didn’t use any toiletries.

yes i totally understand the wee, they ended up putting a catheter in as i physically couldnt get up without fainting, i had the epidural aswell. But i had my first in covid so no one was there to help me shower etc after i got moved into the ward

Maybe just take the stuff with you in case you fancy it or feel able to and if you don’t then just insist that you really don’t want to. No one can force you at all

I didn't shower either, just used waterwipes to wipe myself down and showered when I got home. I stayed 2 nights but was way too weak to have showered - also had emergency c section
