if you have infection then you are safe to do it. the infection is worse than doing the root canal while pregnant. i am a dental assistant. we try not to do work on patients who are in their first trimester unless a root canal is needed. tooth pain is not fun at all!
Yes I did mention it! They said it is fine and that the cons of having an infection are way higher than having a root canal. I can’t help but keep worrying though
Mention to your doctor you're pregnant. They will need to do X-rays and you're not allowed nitrous/laughing gas
It is local lidocaine, so I believe it it okay. Just talk with tour doctor
I had a root canal (not while pregnant), but it truly wasn't a big deal. I can't think of any reason it would hurt your baby. Express your concerns to your dentist. I'm sure they can tell you each step of a root canal and if anything needs to be done differently because you're pregnant.
I had to have an emergency root canal when I was pregnant with my son too. Make sure and discuss it with your dentist office before you go because mine required a letter of released from my OBGYN. It was not anywhere near as painful as I expected it to be and my son was completely unharmed.
