Routine

When should I start introducing a routine? My baby is 4 weeks and currently, I feed her on demand, she sleeps whenever she wants to - I just basically follow her cues. Is this ok for the time being?

Oh yeah that’s what I did. My daughter is 7 months old now & just figured out her own routine. I would just let your baby lead the way!

I only did a routine in terms of what we do at bedtime, don’t bother with times or anything. She’s 5 months old now and has fallen into her own routine and feeds / naps at very similar times each day

I tried to get the bedtime routine in place first. And knowing the difference between nighttime and daytime. X

When mine were babies we did have a morning and bedtime routine but throughout the day it was up to them when they wanted to eat and sleep. Infants have to tell us those kinds of things.
We usually woke up around 6-7, because that is when they decided they were hungry. From there we had a infant education time. We did baby Einstein while I changed diapers and fed them. Later on we started with learning their milestones such as rolling over and walking.
The evening routine to get them sleep was a feeding then a warm bath. After the bath, we would dry them off and rub lotion on while singing a lullaby. They were in bed by 8pm.

You can do it either way. I liked the babywise routine. But on demand feeding works too.
