Baby Asthma

Hey mamas! Anyone here whose baby has asthma? How do you manage it? My 10 month old baby got a cold and cough, his chest was majorly affected. He was wheezing and had to be taken to ER immediately. We stayed there for two days, and docs said its possible he has asthma because we have it in our family history. This experience has frightened us!!! I wanted to know how you go about with your kids having asthma, what precautions do you take, any home remedies? Thanks

Did they give you puffers?

Puffers are the only remedy.
A humidifier can help if it's sickness caused asthma.

Both of my kids have asthma, plus my husband.

Orange puffer as soon as they start to get a cough & do the full 10 days

Definitely talk to your pediatrician about preventative care

Yes, they gave us the puffers and gave us the action plan for next time

Yea the docs said the same that puffers are the solution, I was hoping there was more I could do. Def cant make him stay at home all the time, we go to playgroups and he'll be starting day care soon. So its been really worrying me

Well you can't prevent him from going out. If he's sick with asthma keep him home & rested

At school make sure they have puffers. Daycares are able to administer prescribed medication when needed

It's difficult for sure. Also the orange puffer takes a few days before it starts to help & it will make the cough sound worse. It'll be more phlegmy but productive instead of dry
