My baby is 4 months 2 and a bit weeksš„° I started her on pouch food around 2-3 weeks ago and since she has gone right off her formula, Iāve had to up the amount of pouch food I give her as she now turns her nose up to the formulaš¤¦š¼āāļø over the past week she really hasnāt wanted the formula at all she has around 10-15 ounces of formula a day now with 3 and a bit pouchesš„ŗāŗļø I mean I love that she is loveing her food but should I be doing this? If I donāt give her the pouches she ends up going sooo long with no food as she really pulls away from the milk and Iām not going to force that on her! I just donāt know what I should do at the minute can anyone help me with this at all?!š£
Thank you in advanceš„°

No. Milk has way more nutrients that are needed for growth and should not be replaced at all at this age. I'd stop food for now.

Drop the food for now. As above milk over food when this little. No need for food until after 6mths really

Shouldnāt be reducing formula at all at this age so should stop the pouches for now and get the milk back up. She has less formula than my 11 month old.

You need to stop giving her food. Reintroduce it after six months, I didn't move my baby onto three meals until she was nearly 9 months old.

Stop the food. Itās not necessary at this age, but milk is.

I done that but then she went the whole day on 5 ounces of milk thatās it! š¤¦š¼āāļø

They need well above what you're offering at this age. You can try to offer a few bites of food and then do milk but really the fact that it's so low is not good for your baby and you may need to get help to get her off of the food for now.

No she needs formula at her age you need to stop the food

If youāre not already, make sure sheās getting a multivitamin if sheās not have much formula as she wonāt be getting all the nutrients she needs.
Hopefully youāll be able to get her back on the milk soon.

Just feed her what she will eat. She is probably going through a feeding strike she will start eating again when she is ready.

Iām offering her 7 bottles a day 6ounces each she just refuses it so in fact Iām OFFERING her what I know I should be if not more sheās just not taking it so what am I meant to do take her off the food and then her not be eating anything?

I will grab some of those asap then babe thatās the only thing I can think of doing if I take her off her pouch food then she wonāt be eating basically anything so Iād rather not starve my childš¤·š¼āāļøš¤¦š¼āāļø Iām just going to go with her but grab those multi vitamins Iāve also taken her to the doctors a couple days ago explained everything they said to go with her so thatās what Iāve been doingš¤·š¼āāļø

Does she drink out of sippies or straws yet? You might try trading the bottle in for something she will drink out of.

Like I said you may need professional help. I'd be speaking to your doctors about what to do because she does need way more milk.

Your baby wonāt purposely starve herself. Sheās refusing the bottles because she knows youāll offer pouches instead. When she realises bottles is all thatās on offer and she gets hungry, sheāll take the bottle

Iāve taken her twice already and have just booked the 3rd one in but both times Iāve been they say sheās just going through a phase and to go with her and that is professionals soš¤·š¼āāļø

yeh I tried that and she did go the whole day from 5am to 9pm on 5ounces of milk and then when she woke up at 11pm I gave her a bit more milk but she only took 2 ounces again so she only had like 7 ounces in 24 hoursš¤·š¼āāļø

she will only have the mam bottles I havenāt tried a bottle with a straw as I didnāt feel she was old enough but do you think I should try?

Have you tried thinning out the purees with formula? I'm shocked your doctors are okay with this and haven't offered help. Ask about a feeding therapist if possible or an occupational therapist

how would I make them thinner babe?

Pour the puree into a bowl and mix with a few oz of formula. Then spoon feed as normal. It'll be messier but at least you can try tricking her into more formula and it might get her to want to drink again. Also having a bottle at the table while eating.
As weird as it sounds even showing you drinking from a bottle could make her want to drink from hers again.
