My baby is literally screaming crying with her first tooth coming in I don’t know what to do she wont settle with cuddles at all or with her teething toys should I give her calpol? My GP said I shouldn’t have to for teething. I don’t want to give her food or anything as she’s 4 months. What else can I do? TIA xx

Official NHS website says you can give Calpol so I’d ignore your GP! https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/baby/babys-development/teething/tips-for-helping-your-teething-baby/

Our LG is exactly the same and we’ve got Ashton and parsons teething crystals can be used from 3 months. They work wonders and have really helped. Also have you tried dummy/teething toys in fridge? We have to hold the teething toys in her mouth but it seems to work

I gave calpol, lo was screaming for over an hour and everything else had been checked off the list, the night before it came through it was so bad we gave nurofen 3 hours after calpol lo was so inconsolable xx

I have Ashton and parson teething gel suitable for 3months plus and works wonder also try the teething soothers you put in freezer or a dummy in freezer to help soothe

I gave my little girl calpol tonight, thought it would be okay 🤷🏼♀️ she has been fussy and not sleeping for a few nights now and I thought it was the 4 month regression (which part might be) but I’ve just looked and it looks like a tooth has cut through 😩 she has also bitten down on my nipple a couple times 😬😬

Don't put anything in the freezer, only the fridge! You can definitely give calpol xx

I have given my little one frozen breast milk lollies 😂 seems to do the trick and also some calpol and the Ashton and parsons teething powder

Unfortunately she didn’t latch at birth so we had to formula feed her instead☹️

Absolutely give calpol if required. It’s a pain relief. Not just for temperature xx

My MIL said you can rub their gum to try and break the skin as that is the bit that hurts so it hurts in that moment and then it's done with.. I don't know if it's something I will do but desperate times yk

We tried all the teething gels and salts we could has some are 6+ months and unfortunately nothing seemed to work. He would settle for 5 mins with a cold teething toy but then become unsettled again. He now wears an amber teething bracelet on his ankle and I have seen such a difference may be a coincidence but I don’t want to risk taking it off to find out 😂 remove it only for baths. Some nights however he gets really uncomfortable and will just scream so we do give calpol. It’s painful for them! If we are in pain we take pain relief!

I give mine cal pop for her teeth but I didn’t feel it made a difference she was still in pain I then went and got teething gel and it even has a little silicone brush on the part where the gel comes out so u can brush there gums whilst applying it🥰 she also has pouches of food maybe could try with a couple spoons of pouch food for her? The spoon my daughter loves to hold and bite onto that might help maybe? But be careful when buying the pouches make sure u only get the ones suitable for her age☺️ they should say 4+ months on it🥰 hope she feels better soon!!🥺x

The calpol Bix literally says "teething" on it so I would ignore that advice, my baby is the same, we use teething gel/toys through the day, I've started freezing some apple and banana baby food and just rubbing the cubes across her gums, but of a night sometimes she just can't sleep with the pain so have to give calpol and she goes to sleep, only had to do it 2 or 3 times but sometimes it's a must just to help them
