Safe sleeping

Does your child sleep in a sleeping bag every night? I know there are lots of different togs for different temps but didn’t know if you felt they needed one or whether a sleep suit is fine some nights?

I always use a sleeping bag 0.5-2.5 tog depending on the temp but used just a sleep suit when it was really hot recently.

My LO sleeps in a sleeping bag, not because of the temperature, but because it’s part of our bedtime routine. And she moves so much at night, including rolling, that the sleeping bag stops her from getting her feet stuck on the sides of the crib.

I feel like she knows it’s night time with it. One night it was still wet and I didn’t put it on, she woke up every 20min for 1hr to the point I just chucked it into the tumble dryer. She slept fine after that.

My little girl has slept in a sleeping bag once (3 months old) we always just use blankets (different thickness depending on temp) under the armpits and tucked under her mattress so it doesn’t come loose!

I’ve never used a sleeping bag. Just vest when it was the heatwave, not it’s cooler a vest, sleepsuit and thin blanket. Will switch to a thicker blanket when it’s colder x

In summer sometimes just sleepsuits, just vest or just nappy!

When it was hot, baby wore a vest only but she has been in a sleeping bag ever since.
I bought a 1 tog one and I have 2.5tog ones. Xx

The sleeping bag is for comfort as much as temp

Except for heatwaves, mine's always in a sleeping bag

I've used sleepsacks since my boy couldn't be swaddled anymore. I had 1 tog ones for the summer which he slept in with just a vest when it was super hot x

We have used sleep sacks from day one. Once she was big enough we bought her a wool one that breaths beautifully. The one we have is for all year round and you just change what baby is dressed in to make it the correct temp. It was quite expensive but I have had real anxiety around safe sleep so it's helped me relax. X

Yes apart from the heatwave. We have 0.2, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2.5 but even then you can guarantee its the wrong one as it is warm (22-23°) when going to bed but getting colder in the mornings now. Mine uses his as a comfort as well as for warmth.
