How long until walking?

My girl has been cruising (walking while holding onto furniture) and I’m wondering how long it usually takes until they walk independently once they cruise?!

Mine was cruising for 4 months before he felt confident enough to do it on his own!

There’s really no set time frame. Some kids furniture cruise for months before getting the courage. Some try then if they fall go back to crawling. Some only like a day of cruising then decide to randomly just get up and walk. My daughter did the cruising for like a month and then she started doing the random stand up in the middle of the room then sit back down. Close to 11 months is when she started walking but it was still a mix of crawling and walking for a couple weeks till she stuck to just walking. My besties son who was born 6 hours after he furniture cruised for quite a while then started walking around 14 months.

Mine started a week or so after they turned one, but my daughter was 11 months!

It took about 2 weeks for my daughter. What we did for my daughter was I put a rattle in each of her hands and my mom and I got on the floor with her (pretty close together with her in the middle) and encouraged her to take those steps. It seemed like having something in her hands helped her out tremendously! But everytime she took a step and made it to us we would cheer and send her back the other way then widen the distance. My daughter also liked us to walk her around the house (ALL THE TIME) it seemed to help her realize that was faster than crawling and it helped strengthen her legs. I hope this helps!
