Has anyone set up a bank account for their little ones yet? I want to start putting some money away for my LO but most the accounts I’ve found either cost money or can’t set up till 11 years old!
I want to be able to log in to see how much it is there and then when he’s old enough give him a card so I can teach him about money (I was never taught and I believe it made me terrible with money)

I have a child's savings account which I set up for free then when she's 11- 12 I believe? I can let her have her card to do spends and learn money etc then she'll have more control of the account when 16 and its a young person's account then it'll be completely hers at 18
So I have that then I'm looking for a good interest gaining account but not sure on them yet?

I think you can set up a junior ISA from any age, they are better for interest and tax free until the child is 18 xx

I set up a credit union account for my baby :)

We opened a Halifax kids monthly saver as it had the best interest rate at the time of opening although that rate only lasts for one year then drops quite significantly. You can put a maximum of £100 per month in it. We have online banking for this account where as the other 2 have an account with Virgin and we can’t access this at all, the only way we know how much is in them accounts is when we get a statement x

As Becky and Emma said Halifax, the interest rate is the best at the moment

Halifax here!

Lloyds child saver account

Halifax ISA x

We’ve got Halifax for my 2 year old and May baby! You can put money in, see how much is in it too x

I set up a Vanguard stocks and shares ISA for our daughter - it’s free to do and you can’t touch the money at all. She can only access it when she turns 18, which it think is great
I’m already with Halifax, can I link it to my account?

Yeah I think you can - I’m sure that’s what I did cos when I log into my bank I can see both my sons aswel , you just sign him up and I think it just links! X

Not if you open an isa you can’t. A normal savings account you can x
