6 months and not sitting unassisted
My LO is 6 months, 7 on the 6th and isn't sitting up unassisted, he'll sit in seats, the swing etc all fine but on his own he just turns into a pretzel
How can I encourage him to sit more?
He'd rolling and met all other mile stones with ease and occasionally wants to be stood up and then looks VERY proud

my baby was the same, i asked my pediatrician and he said it’s actually normal for them to not sit up until about 8 months. when my son got to about 7 months he just started doing it all on his own, they just have to build up the strength. i do have a few toys that he can help support himself with while playing, like the vtech cube. but don’t stress out, he will get there!
My baby didn’t sit up until 8 months and then started crawling 2 weeks later - not sure what you can do to encourage it but it’s completely normal don’t worry x
I found the best way to help my baby sit up was to sit behind him with my legs round him and he’d lean against his toy piano and I’d move a bit further away. We did it constantly til he got stronger, but as others have said don’t panic!
