I has a question

How long does it take for labour to typically start after the baby is engaged and is on the cervix? I called the midwifes today, and they explained that the sharp pain and pressure I've been feeling is her getting into position and that she's hitting the cervix. So I was just wondering how long it typically takes for labour to start after.

Honestly it could be hours, days or weeks 🙈

I think my baby's head started to engage about a week ago, by mid week I was getting A LOT of the sharp pain/ pressure you described and still no sign of labour yet. I'm 35+5 so I'm hoping he can hang on until 37 weeks! I bought a pelvic girdle pain relief belt to help me manage until he's ready.

It could take up to weeks tbh. My little one was engaged at 34 weeks I'm now 38 and she's still not here. I've been feeling sharp pains and pressure since then x

I don’t think there’s a time frame on it tbf, I’ve had the same as you from 33 weeks and I think that’s a fairly average time for it to start x
