Should I be concerned that my little boy bruises and marks easily?

see this is what I think but my mum and Nan think nothings the matter… “in a way it’s better that the bruise comes out straight away”

Absolutely no disrespect but please don’t listen to anyone but your mummy instincts if you think something is wrong go and get checked x

How old is your little boy?
Bruising easily can be a sign of a clotting problem.
But if he’s a toddler and forever just bashing into things, it could just be normal.
If you’re concerned, trust your gut. It’s always better to feel you’ve wasted someone’s time than worry and later regret it

he’s 2 next month and he’s definitely the most clumsiest child going😅😂 and I totally agree with you. I’d rather be seen as wasting a doctors time rather than letting it slide

My daughter is 3.5 years old and bruises & marks like a bloody peach!!! I’ve never been concerned. Didn’t know it was a problem😂😂😂😂

thank you, I think I’m going to put myself out of misery and get it checked x

I'd say get it checked, my toddler barely bruises and she's always messing about with her brother and climbing stuff

Saying this- my 7yr old is constantly banging his head and doing stupid stuff and is covered in bruises but he's fine

I think it’s because I heard about a child who had an underlying heath problem and the main cause was bruising easily. And from that day forward it just got me thinking and worrying aha but it’s probably nothing as I say he’s the most clumsiest child😂

I’ve honestly never even heard of anything like this lol. My daughter 90% of the time doesn’t even know where she got the mark/bruise/bump from if I ask her😂😂😂.

oh bless😂 I’m most probably overreacting but I’d rather be safe than sorry

yeah if it's on your mind, get tests done! You just never know. My daughter had HFM, a viral rash and a sick bug at the same time in July and I know you don't go to hospital with stuff like that but she looked awful and I couldn't stop thinking what if there's something horribly wrong and I'm ignoring it etc so I took her in 👀🥹

She had fluids there and tests for infections and sent home in like 4 hours. I've never ever been made to feel like a time waster when I've taken either of them to be checked and they have always said to never feel that way and they would always rather see a well child than a potentially sick child staying at home just in case they were wasting resources

They bruise pretty easy but that on top of some sleep and behavioural issues made me go get my sons iron checked turns out it’s low

definitely get him checked. most likely low iron, which is why i bruise so easily but that would be my first guess and hopefully if anything that’s it since it’s a pretty easy fix in general. definitely don’t put this off though :) sending you and your babe good vibes

thank you girls! I totally didn’t think about low iron!

what type of behavioural issues did you notice? As my boys behaviour has been a off recently

I would do an e-consult to the gp, put it in the concerns and any photos and they can advise what to do next xx

mostly a lot of overstimulation happening very quickly, meltdowns aggression to me and his dad and himself but I also think he has sensory processing issues and he is getting assessed for other things
