Sterilisers

Hey, here’s me yesterday 33+5 at my baby shower which I had the best time at! Felt so so overwhelmed by the end of it as everyone was so kind and excited. Now I’m on the final countdown to work out what else we need prior to babies arrival and aware we haven’t got a steriliser yet, which ones are the best? I’m going to give breastfeeding a go but I don’t expect to do it solely for too long so will either pump it I have enough milk or use formula :) any advice welcome! Thanks!

You look gorgeous!!! 🥰🫶🏻 I can’t recommend myself yet as we haven’t used it but we bought the Tommee tippee UV steriliser on recommendation from several friends - they have a huge sale on their website ATM, it’s £40 off then you get another 20% off! Not sure how long it’s on for though x

I would recommend a cold water container for pump parts as they can become distorted when heated in the microwave. The ones that go in the microwave are good, and easy for bottles, just need to check size if you have a small microwave. Or you can buy a separate machine that uses either stem or UV. Machine are generally more expensive but probably more efficient and cleaner.

we bought the tommee tippee one which came with 8 bottles, a dummy, a bottle warmer and a travel one. we got it for £40 because my partner is friends with someone at mumas and papas + it was ex display. i think my mum used the same one for my brothers and it was brilliant. i would buy it online as it’s cheaper online than in store! xx

I got the cold water steriliser (Milton) it was recommended by a few people I know so can't comment myself as not used it yet but seems practical and convenient x

I've just brought a bottle of Milton for now. Mainly because it does just as good of a job without the constant use of an appliance. They do tablets and liquid. I think the marketing companies have us believe that we need fancy machines, and we just don't!
