Colostrum?

Has anyone leaked Colostrum at 24 weeks? I haven’t started leaking yet and wondering if it will come anytime soon so i can save it for my baby.

I did in my first pregnancy, not yet this time. Its typical not to see it for a while yet, and not recommended to harvest it until waaay closer to delivery. Some women also don’t get any before baby is actually born!

I don’t think they recommend harvesting until at least 37 weeks anyway.

I’ve been leaking since 22 weeks, drives me mad 😂 I just wipe it away as it’s not recommended to harvest it yet

I havent leaked as such but there has been a bit of a mark in my bra from which I can only assume is colostrum x

I’m 26 weeks been leaking for about 2/3 weeks now. I was advised not to squeeze it out or anything like that as it can make you produce a certain hormone that induces labour

No leaking :( and I really am so desperate to BF. Makes me nervous xx

Im not leaking at all and its my first time being pregnant

Lots of people don’t leak at all pre-birth, we have so long to go so don’t worry about it yet.

@GeorginaProduction of colostrum before labour is not related at all to being able to/not able to breastfeed, don’t panic ❤️

I’ve been leaking since 18 weeks x

Yeah first pregnancy been leaking since around 24 weeks aswell x

@Chloe oh thank you so much. I don’t know if just makes me feel like, they don’t work ? I’m a single mum to be with no financial help, no child support. Formula gets expensive and I’ve always wanted to BF anyway. I just got anxious as I’ve had no leaking :( I was worried it meant I had less chance. Thank you so much for making me feel better ❤️

Omg I had some come out my right nipple at 20 weeks, I was a bit shocked tbh 🤣

lemme start by reinterating what @Chloei said - the leaking/production of colostrum soo early on, does not correlate to your ability to breastfeed or the production of breast milk you will have after babe gets here! i am currently 36+4 and still don’t “leak” however, ever since around 28w if i press around nip with my hands i can get some to come out (i do not recommend doing this before 36w since hand expression can cause preterm labor. i was just curious if i actually had any at the time since this is my first baby) - so now at 36+4 i can definitely say i have some in there, but i still have not leaked naturally or anything. i do have a breast pump coming in soon and if baby still isn’t here around 38w i plan on trying to get some out to maybe start labor around, and also have some ready for babe when he does make his arrival lol

I'm 24 weeks and haven't had any signs yet
