Oooh you are fantastic!! Tips and tricks to get your 3 year old sleeping in their own room? Mine slept alone from 2 days old to 2.5 years and had to co-sleep for a few months while we renovated sections of our house near his room and now it's like there's no going back. And I'm 34 weeks pregnant with no energy, but terrified of what this will mean with a newborn.

@Amanda this is so hard, especially when you’re third trimester pregnant!! Sleep at this age is all about boundaries and consistency. Is he still napping?

He naps at preschool 5 days a week, but not at home on the weekends and we find we have an easier time getting him down at night when he hasn't napped

@Amanda do you have any control over his naps at preschool? Otherwise, you can move bedtime a bit later on nap days

@Sarah Smith | Swallowtail Sleep we don't 😔 we've talked to some of the other parents about it and they are in a similar situation.

@Amanda that’s so tough and makes it challenging for sleep at home! In the meantime, try moving bedtime back 30 min on nap days. Otherwise be consistent and confident with your sleep boundaries! Toddlers are my fav clients, so please feel free to reach out if you need help! I’m most responsive on Instagram

@Mia I support whatever parents are comfortable with! I’ve seen Ferber, as well as other methods be successful for this age, absolutely. It’s also been proven that controlled crying methods do not have damaging effects on infants. The most important aspect for attachment is consistent response to the child, which is demonstrated in all methods I recommend for families, ranging from very slow/gentle to closer to Ferber With Ferber or other methods that involve controlled crying, setting the stage for sleep (appropriate timing, environment, routines) are absolutely vital to make the habit shifting easier on everyone involved

@Mia you’re welcome! I do a free Q&A on my IG every Monday if you have more questions and/or would like to follow along
