For the moms who are WFH.

My baby is 8 months old and I am considering starting a WFH job. How flexible is it working from home? Like are you still able to care for your baby while on the job? Or do you have someone watch over your baby while you work? Any advice, tips, welcome please.☺️

I take care of my son myself during the day and my husband works nights. So he helps some but I do majority and it's been good. My job has a goal for the month so if he's having a hard day one day I try to make up for it the next. But my son also sleeps in later so I can have some time to get some done

I WFH and honestly if it wasn't for my husband watching our 8 month old baby throughout the day idk how I would get any work done. Its not impossible to WFH with a baby but it's definitely hard.

It really depends on your job and on your baby.

My job isn't that demanding and I still need help. My mom comes all day on Tues and Thurs and I have a sitter come for 4-6 more hours a week. If I had a more demanding job it would be impossible to do both imo. I think either my job or the baby would suffer

I work from home and honestly don’t think I could do it while watching my 8 month old. I kept her home with me for the first 3 weeks after my 12-week maternity leave and it was challenging. Now that she’s mobile I definitely don’t think I could juggle both. And my job isn’t hard, but I do have quite a few meetings.

What kind of wfh jobs do you guys have?

I work from home 4/5 days of the week and my job is pretty slow so it’s easy to get work done with my baby. I take care of her everyday while working. On Mondays which are my in-office days unless I have to switch it to a different day, my mom has that day off and watches my daughter. Other than that, I don’t get help throughout the week but I am able to manage as my job really isn’t busy. But most work from home jobs, you may need a babysitter or nanny.

I used to WFH but a month ago I came back to the office 3x week, honestly it’s impossible if your job requires some level of customer service/phone calls/video calls. I do HR for a public school & baby sometimes just cries or gets fuzzy during my calls. Tried for a week and then sent her to daycare. Now we are all happy 😅
