What would you do?

My baby is 4.5 months old. I pump once a day (at night) and leave my pump parts in the basin over night and clean and sterilize the next day. Last night I pumped and put the pieces in warm water without soap and just let them soak all night/ day. When I got home, my husband had sterilized everything. However, he informed me that he never scrubbed or washed the pieces with soap, he just rinsed and sterilized. I didn’t know this info until after I pumped 🫠 Is it enough to just rinse/sterilize? Am I crazy for wanting to dump the milk out?

The milk is good 👍

I wouldn't risk it. Use the milk for a bath! Imo it's never worth it to risk having a screaming baby w a tummy ache!

I think the sterilizing is good to kill most bacteria even without a soapy water wash. I pump many times a day and put parts in the fridge between pumps. I wash, sterilize once a day.

I think you’re fine! I’ve definitely done it with no problems. But, do whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Like another person said, use the milk for a bath!

Thank you everyone for your input!!!!!!
