John Lewis are really good they couldn’t of been more helpful
I would recommend John Lewis x
I'd avoid smyths and Halford as they will probably try and sell a FF seat. Whilst it maybe legal from a certain age its not as safe as rear facing. There's a good group on FB that has a lot of information rear facing and seats that have gone through advanced testing. Most infant carriers are the same but many don't have a good fit. Again the grp can advise which are better safe for LO. https://www.facebook.com/groups/carseatsafetyuk/?ref=share I recently purchased one from Gainsborough via here and should keep our LB RF till around 5ys x
Little angels is good
I would avoid Smyth's, Halfords and John Lewis. Id find a specialist shop that are trained by the manufacturer. Cariad Babi in derby sell britax seats and you can try them in your car.
If you're looking for the best newborn seat I'd get the avionaut pixel pro it will give a really good fit no matter how big or small your baby is born and is a well tested seat.
We used little angels prams and I cannot fault the service from the owner, she went through absolutely everything with us and they have more selection than JL x
Also, if you sign up to their newsletter before you go, you can get a discount off too
@Nicola oooo yes I forgot about this place! I got my stroller from here and they were amazing!!
@Celia they’ve honestly been amazing with us, our little one is due tomorrow (😬😱) and my mum believes in an old wives tale that it’s unlucky to have the pram in the house before the baby is born, so they agreed to keep it for us in their warehouse until we are ready for it, which is super helpful as me and my partner don’t live particularly close to our families. We did however ask to collect the car seat early just in case, and this was not a problem at all - they even checked it was fitted in our car correctly for us too x
Little angels prams are amazing and they also do an NHS discount if you work for NHS x
I used safe journey car seats, and she supported us to find the safest seat for us. The absolute best infant carrier is the avionaut pixel Pro, or if you want something that stays in the the avionaut sky is a gorgeous seat. Personally, I'd avoid smyths or John lewis they offer pretty poor advice and poorly tested seats.
We went to Mamas and Papas (booked an appointment etc) but did a whole bunch of research before so kinda knew what we wanted anyways. They were really good and patient with us though as we still had a load of questions, and they weren't pushy to make the sale which was v nice!
We got ours from Halfords and they’ve had some nice options to chose from!
Smyths are really good and well trained. My partner is one of the advisers there and they fit the seat in/know exactly which seat you'll need for safety. They have a strict internal policy about not selling FF seats unless they are of the correct weight and height (can measure little one in store) x
