I am more worried about if will be safe for baby… because I had cat before but not a baby 🙈
The main thing is to make sure the cat isn’t anywhere where your lo is sleeping especially if the cot is next to a chest of drawers. Ours weren’t kittens however as cats they tended to keep their distance unless the baby cried and one of our cats got very curious. It’s more the cat scratching the baby if they grab hold of them although ours have been fairly good or they swipe without claws as a warning.
I’d probably do it sooner rather than later so the cat is bigger by the time your baby is quick enough to reach it. Also they do zoom around at night as kittens and attack your feet at night. We tend to get pairs so we have a British blue and a normal white fluffball. Do you have somewhere safe for the litter tray to go? Only you can say wether you will be able to cope with everything although maybe see how you feel once you are back at work in terms of adding to your responsibilities.
