Asking someone to cover their mouth
So I went to a big Tesco for the first time since my baby was born in August. As it is cold and flu season I have been anxious about going to places where there is a lot of people.
I was at the self check out with my sister and a staff member was getting an old lady a basket from behind the barrier. I noticed the lady cough without covering her mouth. My sister and I exchanged looks and tried to move away a bit but couldn't as we were scanning and packing the then pay . She coughed another time while she was waiting. My sister said out loud that she needs to turn away when she coughed and I asked the lady if she could cover her mouth when she coughed.
She gave an angry look. Took the basket from the staff member. And mumbled something and started to cough forcefully at us as she turned to walk away. Lucky as she coughed the first time moved my baby to the side/behind me to shield her but i could still see her. And she was zipped in her carry cot.
Were we wrong for saying something? I think people are forgetting that covid was and still is a thing.

From what looks like you were much nicer than I would’ve been !
My boy was born in August too and I take him on walks but sometimes need to take him to the supermarkets.
If it had been me and after I asked someone to cover their mouth to protect my LO and they mumbled something fists would’ve been swinging 😂
Also I want to state that I’m not a violent person but I (and I’m pretty sure any other mum) will do anything to protect my son
who doesn’t cover their mouth when they cough??? ugh
I would’ve said something too!! SO many selfish people nowadays who don’t think about the impact they could have on anyone let alone a tiny little baby!
Even covid isn't around, and even there's no babies, people should always cover their mouth when coughing.
