Developmentally, our child is doing great, hated tummy time in the beginning, but now has fully mastered it. Husband says its by his design. Whatever. I am more laid back and since baby's birth he's become more strict on everything. On days I work from home I take my time waking up baby so around 9 maybe 9:30. Which upset him because according to the routine he made baby needs to be up by 8:30 latest. Which i usually follow but sometimes mama just wants to sleep in and he called me selfish. Maybe it's me, am I too laid back? We just had a huge argument bc I woke up baby at 9:30 and according to him I'm the reason baby's cranky, I screwed up the entire day. I feel he's too strict, am I wrong? Not sure how to get on the same page as him. Help!

I think having a pretty strict schedule for a baby is a pretty good idea to uphold consistency (I have a pretty decent feeding schedule going and when baby deviates from it he tends to get fussy but can’t get a nap schedule for the life of me) HOWEVER to be frank he seems like he’s going about it in a pretty dickish way. Every once in a while if you want to sleep in you should be able to, not everyone is perfect. You both have a new baby in the house and both of you deserve a bit of slack.

We are very laid back parents with no schedule and our baby is a happy little bug. She is thriving and hitting all the developmental milestones ahead of time. We simply follow her cues. Personally, I didn't want to be a slave to the clock with some crazy schedule. Your wellbeing is also important, sleep in whenever you can! Babies get cranky sometimes, just like adults.

What's stopping your husband from getting the baby up at 8.30am if that's so important to him🤷♀️
