Help

I’ve been breastfeeding other than one bottle at night (either formula or pumped milk depending how much I get). My daughter went from pooing a few times a day at 3 weeks to pooing once every other day now at 4 weeks. I know breast milk is a natural laxative so now i’m worrying she’s not getting enough or she’s constipated. She doesn’t seem agitated or hungry but i’m worried 😩. Has anyone else experienced similar? Thanks

My 6 week old has been doing this for a week or two! Usually every other day but just went three days 😕 and then has a huge explosive poo hahha. Also a lot thicker than it used to be. Apparently it's ok unless it's hard and pellet like, it's them having to learn how to poo now than the reflex has gone!

That’s good to know - thank you, she lost quite a lot of weight after she was born so now i’m really paranoid but really want to stick at breastfeed this time 🤞🏼

@Victoria well done for keeping going!! It's worrying when something changes x

It's quite normal for breastfeed babies to go 2-3 days without a poo don't worry!

Thank you ☺️ that’s good to know, with midwife’s asking about number of wet and dirty nappies per day I wasn’t sure what was normal

Same happened to us! We went from dirty nappy everyday to no poo for 4 days and even 5 days! When he eventually sent it was …. Explosive 😂! Health visitor told me it’s normal as long as he doesn’t look uncomfortable and belly isn’t hard. Now he is a bit more regular !

Thanks so much ☺️
