Mum’s instinct
No point to this post other than to just say if you’re ever worried about your baby and think they’re not right trust your gut!!!
My little boy had a bath fine and seemed fine all day but by the evening he became so tired and lifeless. He was making this odd sound whilst he was sleeping like a little groan. I’m not sure why I was just paranoid and kept checking him. I picked him up and he wouldn’t even open his eyes and was floppy and unresponsive.
I rushed him to a&e and was seen almost immediately pushing infront of people who had been waiting 3+ hours already for triage. His temp was 39.5, he was tachycardic and the doctors said I bought him in at the right time as he was really poorly. The doctors said he may have to have a lumbar puncture in the morning if his temp didn’t stay down (I sobbed at the thought) and I sobbed in the corridor whilst they inserted his canula as I could hear him screaming. Turns out he had a urine infection! Honestly, he went downhill so fast it was terrifying. I sent a video to my mum and a few friends and they were like oh it doesn’t seem like he’s behaving weirdly but thankfully I trusted my gut!
We had 5 days of intravenous antibiotics followed by 5 days of oral! He now has conjunctivitis and cold and I haven’t slept more than half an hour as a time in over 2 weeks! But I am just so so so glad he is okay!
Mums, ALWAYS trust your gut when it comes to your baby. No one knows them better than you!

Sorry you’ve been through this, well done for trusting your instincts and following through with it, it can seem really hard to do when other people don’t agree or tell you that you are over worrying. Hope you’re managing to get some more rest now and that baby is on the mend x

Oh my poor baby! Well done you want an awful ordeal. All caused by a uti so scary, glad he's on the mend x
Exactly the same thing happened to my little girl when she was 12 weeks old and I count my lucky stars every day I trusted my gut. I knew something wasn’t right. Never know how ill they could get from a little infection. Our baby left hospital with Covid but again so so so glad I trusted myself that I knew my baby well enough! Sending lots of love to you both!

My son almost died on me the 2nd day being home he would not wake up his eyes, and his lips were blue. we stayed in the hospital for 17 days

Exactly this, my LO had a urine infection that lead to sepsis at 4 weeks old (he is now 17 weeks) was so scary but just went with my gut. Hope your okay, I can totally sympathise the ordeal was horrendous 💜
