Leaving for Maturnity

Okay so I just wanted to come on here and vent for a minute or two. I originally was going to work up to 39 weeks. I am 38 weeks today. This morning my man calls me and says he’s being promoted for his job and we would have to move within then next 2ish months. Keep in my mind my due date is in 2 weeks. He calls me again and says that corporate said he’s actually only 1 of 3 people who could get the promotion when they already said he got it earlier. He thinks that bc I am pregnant that it has altered him landing the job and corporate didn’t realize how close I was to giving birth. I’ll feel so bad if that’s the case. I need him here once baby boy is here for a bit, but if he got the promotion then he would have to leave for awhile and I’d be playing single parent for a bit with a newborn. Which I’m not a fan of that idea. So I told my boss he got the job this morning after the first phone call and decided to leave for maternity today to start mentally and emotionally preparing for the near future of birth, moving, and adjusting to a new environment. Then I had to tell him this afternoon that he’s actually in consideration for the job and could not get it. I have mixed feelings about leaving for leave today instead of next week but maybe it’s from the nerves of feelings being played with from the promotion issue. Should I take leave and relax and have some extra prep time for baby boys arrival? Or squeeze in another week of work?

If it’s financially feasible, I’d take your leave starting 38weeks! That’s what I ended up doing. There are just so many little things that I didn’t even realize were weighing on me because I was so caught up with work. I started my leave on Wednesday, and it’s been nice to be able to breathe, evaluate what I need, spend one-on-one time with my husband before baby gets here, and figure out whatever else needs to get done! Whatever you decide, you got this mama 💪🏽

I pushed working until sep. 22 no wich was my original due date and thanks god she is not here yet. So much to do before she comes. If you can take an advance leave, my take so worth it. I am still unwinding from the work race …

I would suggest you take your leave as long as you can afford waiting a couple weeks for your disability pay. You need time to prepare and organize things for your baby’s arrival and you shouldn’t be stressing this late in your pregnancy :)
