Motrin

I’m very holistic and thought I would never be the mom to give her baby Tylenol or Motrin…. However I believe my baby is teething and when I give her Motrin before bed she sleeps like 11 hours otherwise she’s up all night.

I know it’s not ideal to give medicine every night and I feel so guilty for it. Any other moms in the same boat?

I give my son melatonin so don’t feel bad

Our babies are way too young to be given melatonin. That is really unsafe and I would check with your pediatrician before you do that again. They are too little. Sleep is something they have to learn and when you give an infant this young melatonin you are messing with their ability to sleep independently.. plus making them extra groggy and tired

I'm not holistic but I still hate giving my kids any medicine as well. But when they are teething or sick I do. And when teething if they have a fever as well I switch between Tylenol and motrin. Tylenol during the day and motrin at night. The motrin seems to last longer no idea why lol. I gave mine advice last night since she's teething but caught her sister's cold so I feel horrible!

Dr. Talbots teething gel and tablets work so good with mine. I thought it would be a placebo effect but I see the difference in her sleep and mood

+1 on Olivia’s comment. Melatonin should not be used for kids this young and it DEFINITELY isn’t recommended for long term use either. Even with adults it should be as needed and not given every day. No one knows the long term effects of prolonged melatonin use in children let alone infants

his pediatrician allowed him to have it he fights sleep extremely bad and is underweight due to this so he was given the okay

he is not given everyday he is given it twice a week and I wasn’t the one asking for the advice ☺️❤️

i know, and I’m glad to hear that you were given the ok by a pediatrician. Your comment was just randomly thrown out there about melatonin with no context about frequency and given the ok by the Dr so I didn’t want others to randomly think it was ok to give melatonin without regulation!
