Reduce the amount of stuff you buy. Shop secondhand, charity shops, carboot sales, etc and fix when you can. And don't say no to hand me downs for kids. People are often eager to get rid of stuff as babies grow.

This one might sound a little crazy but with all the tiny baby vests etc, I loathed to spend so much money on baby hangers. One vest came with a cardboard hanger and that gave me an idea! So I used this as a template and made lots using card board boxes, cereal boxes etc. Bcos new born clothes are so tiny and lightweight it doesn’t matter that they’re not all that strong. They work well enough and I’m happy to be reusing something that would only be thrown in recycling

I like your idea. I decided against hangers and just store clothes in boxes, but that is due to baby not having its own room yet. I have three boxes: clothes that can be worn, clothes that are too small and clothes that he needs to grow into or for special occasions.

I’ll probably not use the wardrobe for everything once the baby is here, it’s just nice to be able to see everything in one place in the build up. Even more reason not to buy
