Nappy rash

Hey defo avoid wipes - stick to cotton and the warm water ..not too wet (ringed out) dry area thoroughly with a clean muslin patting . Then a thin layer of metanium. When it’s a bit better I use a thin layer of aquafor baby as it’s petroleum based and it stopped it getting worse. . Pop a puppy pad down or just on waterproof changing mat with muslin over and in a warm room let him have nappy free time / I did this just after I had caught a pee in a nappy so he was less likely to need another wee. You’re not a terrible mum! It happened. How old is baby now? X x

he’s only 5 weeks this has been ongoing since he was about a week old and was wondering last night if I should call the doctors ☹️ I was thinking about nappy free time (I tend to let him have a longish bath to leave a nappy off and he loves the bath also) but the puppy pads are a great idea thank you. I’ve been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what’s causing it and if it’s a certain thing I’m using xx

Try bepantham as a barrier cream. I find it's more breathable on their skin then sudocream.

My baby girl had one too from about day 5 which is clearing now. I tried bepanthen, sudocrem but found methanium to be the best for her. My other children never had nappy rash.

The health visitor said it’s probs due to the acidity of her poos causing an irritation. If it doesn’t clear that I should let the gp know

My midwife said breastmilk helps with nappy rash so we use that. I will express some to put directly on the rash and also pour some into his bath water

Hi Hun. My little boy had what I thought was a severe nappy rash like this, blisters that were cracking and bleeding, we were advised only use a tiny bit of cream to avoid it getting worse. So we did and did like you say changed nappy regularly etc.. eventually went GPs and it was a fungal infection she said the blisters were a give away, she prescribed us an anti fungal cream (very mild one) within 3 days it was gone :) xxxx

There are so many toxic chemicals in nappies... could you switch to one of the more natural brands...
They don't hold as much liquid and appreciate they can be more expensive.

I’ve been putting some in his water as he has a little rash on his face too, apparently this is common also. Poor little thing feel like he’s just covered in sores

that's what we use ... doesn't hold alot does it .. also use colodial silver gel for his bits there are some really good benefits of it.

My lo had bad nappy rash after changing his wipes and sudocream didn't help changed his cream to bepanthen which helped and cleared right up within a day noticed a difference
