Those whose babies had a tongue tie release...
My LO is chewing on his fists aggressively, which only started after he had his tongue tie cut on monday, at 9 weeks old. I'm assuming this is because he's in pain. Did anyone else experience this? I haven't given him calpol yesterday or today, but now I'm wondering if I should keep giving it for a couple more days?

I think at around this stage all baby’s start chewing on their hands, so probably just coincidence. My baby had tongue tie release at 7 weeks and didn’t start chewing on hands until a couple of weeks after, he’s now 11 weeks and does it all the time now. It’s a developmental thing that they start doing and they do it for comfort like sucking on a dummy. I’d say if he had the release on Monday he shouldn’t be in pain now.. but they can’t tell us which is the hard part xx
I’d say it’s a coincidence. We had our tongue tie cut very early at 1 week but he was absolutely fine straight away and only used his hands to show hunger (as they do at that age). He’s been chomping on his hands since about 8 weeks so it’s likely just a coincidence!
Yes, i would agree it’s a coincidence. We had a tongue tie release at 3 weeks and started chewing hands at 10 weeks.
My baby is 11 weeks on Monday (had his procedure just before 2 weeks old) and started chewing on his fists this week. He is teething and he is also finding his hands. I try to replace it with the dummy or with a chewy (he can't really hold them yet), but I guess they don't taste as nice 😅

Def a developmental thing. Mines also doing it at 8 weeks and started at about 7 I think. Also had tongue tie snipped around 2 weeks
