So I bathed my baby this evening. She was happy and playing at first but then the water got too hot and she started crying I quickly took her out of the bath dried her and left her cool off. Her body and cheeks turned red and was breathing fast, I calmed her down and breastfed her and she’s been asleep for the passed 2 hours. I’m so worried I feeel sick to my stomach how did I let this happen to her. Shall I take her to hospital?

Try not to worry this is easily done-im sure she will be fine. I would ring just to be on the safe side and it puts your mind at rest too
Thank you. Do I call 101.

Putting breastmilk on her skin will help in soothing. I'm sure if you took her out quickly, she should be ok. You will know with how she is.
When my little one was one I was making a cup of tea and sandwich....I got her a yoghurt and forgot a spoon. I was quickly grabbing something else. Left my tea on sideboard at the back (she wasn't able to reach) but this day she managed to by going on her tip toes which I had never seen her do and she pulled it down on her hand and (thankfully wasn't as hot as I like a lot of milk) but her wrist and inside of hand were red. I felt so so bad. I put breastmilk on straight away and it actually looked a lot better the next day. These things do happen. Maybe try not to let the water run when she's in it but have filled before you put her in.
We try to prevent so much but you can't prevent everything. x

If she seems in pain or there's blistering I'd call to get little one assessed x
Thank you all. She doesn’t seem to be in pain and there’s no blisters on her body. She’s sleeping. Do I wake her up ?

Doesn’t sound worrying if her skin is no longer red or have no signs of burns but doesn’t hurt to call 101 if you are worried
If you fill up the bath and check temperature before putting her in then you can be sure it’s just right :)
Thank you all. She just woke up smiling and seems fine. I checked her body temperature it reeds 36.2. I will do thank you

We were gifted one of these, they're brilliant and it literally flashes red if too hot, blue if too cold and green is just right.
Also, always add the cold water first to stop any hot pockets of water that can cause burns and water tempt to be too high.
Thank you so much, this is brilliant and exactly what I need
