Bringing baby home

Hi everyone I have a question and I am not sure where to find the information as I am a first time mom. When baby is born and need to be brought home we have bought convertible car seats from birth+ but I was wondering, will we be allowed to carry baby to the car and then sit them or will be need and infant car seat to transport from room to car. Apologies if this is a silly question.

Not a silly question at all. The hospital have a responsibility to make sure you're leaving the hospital safely so that's why most people carry baby out in a car seat, and lots of people think this is something you have to do, but you can just tell them the car seat is in the car and isn't removable. That's enough for them to tick their box 🙂

Thank you so much for the reply @Eve I honestly was not sure at all and didn’t want to be unprepared

Honestly at my hospital they didn't care, to the point we went and asked someone if it was ok to go, car seat looking good ect and they said it wasn't part of their job 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess, though that you would be fine as there may be families who just walk out with their pram perhaps to take public transport or walk if super local.

I asked my midwife this as we had the same issue and she said that if you don’t have a car seat to take in then you need to take the pram instead as they will not let you carry the baby out to the car to put in a car seat. We thought this was ridiculous but we have now bought a car seat we can take in with us. X

Omg, I didn’t realised how many different experiences there is. We do have a spare car seat that comes with the travel system so I guess we will bring that one just in case. I just would have wanted baby to be in the isofix as it it seems safer. Thank you everyone for your information.
