Has anyone got any tips to help their LO start to drink/eat more following a sickness bug. My LG was unwell for about a week and is just taking a long time to get back to normal, she seems hungry but refuses so much food and gets so upset and worked up if she sees something that she doesn’t want to eat. She’s been drinking so much less water/milk too. Doctors has recommended trying to syringe it into her mouth but it’s not going down well and she’s panicking when she sees it. I’ve had her at the docs a few times but everything seems to be clear so they can’t really do much. Starting to feel at a loss as she’s never been a big eater and is quite petit, she’s lost a bit of weight and worry she can’t afford to lose more or end up dehydrated.

My son had a bug recently too and has taken a long time to get back to normal. He wouldn't drink from his normal cup but I found he would drink from a glass if I tipped it back for him or a bottle. It might be worth trying a bit of weak squash as well to encourage drinking some fluids. My son pretty much ate rice cakes and bread sticks for a few days and I gradually introduced some pasta and fruit. It is hard though and takes them so much longer to recover than you'd expect. Hope she feels better soon! Xx
Thank you so much! Will defo try some of these ☺️ xx

Would you little one drink a smoothie, even just milk and banana or other fruit? Or maybe buy some fruit and yoghurt pouches. My daughter is petite as well, and I'm always worrying about her getting poorly x
