My husband is a loud sleeper. He talks in his sleep a lot. He’s not shouting or having night terrors but he does make quite a bit of noise. This was a quirk that I dealt with and even thought was funny at times until our baby was born.
Now he will say things in his sleep about the baby. I will move or a dog will jump on the bed and he will say to watch the baby (the baby is in the bassinet and we’ve never bed shared). The part that I’m struggling with is that it’s become a pattern that as I’m transitioning baby back into the bassinet after a night feeding he will start talking in his sleep. This then wakes the baby and I have to start all over again. He of course doesn’t have any memory of this and then takes forever to become coherent enough to actually help get baby back to sleep if I try to wake him up. Tonight he tried to ball up the blanket and acted like it was the baby when I asked him to try to get him back to sleep. It makes me nervous to fall back asleep myself because of how delirious he can be
