Oxytocin injection for placenta

My cousin who had her baby last month had it and it got delivered within 30 minutes after the injection can also take up to an hour. You bleed alot less and you don’t feel your body contracting when it’s releasing unlike you would if you were without the injection. I’ve chosen to have it to so fingers crossed mine will go well x

Apparently it makes you quite nauseated. Even naturally it could take only a few mins. I'll try without one but if my placenta isn't delivered within 30 mins, I'll ask for the injection I think 😊 if you're more prone to bleeding etc, I'd go for it

My midwife also suggested it this morning and I’ve made the decision to have it, she said it can help with the uterus contracting too and reduce risk of haemorrhaging (that’s the main reason I decided to have it). As I’m hoping for a water birth they said they give you it after you get out, so I just hope they don’t rush me out too fast

I’ve had a baby before and had to have the injection then so I know what it does how it feels ect.
But the first time it was a rush and I didn’t really know much about it, I still don’t, so
