My 2.5 year old was really out of sorts yesterday. We put him to bed at 7pm and he woke up at 9pm crying and screaming with his eyes shut all night and morning. He wouldn’t eat or drink first thing this morning and his body wasn’t letting him sleep. I tried his temperature but the thermometer very temperamental and I don’t trust it, but he felt really hot to touch. He wouldn’t communicate and didn’t know what to do with himself.
I noticed white patches on his bottom lip so decided to phone to doctors. He perked up a little just before we went (typical) as he had some neurofen.

I am so so so thankful for our nhs, they really helped us after a horrific accident with our boy last year.
However when we went to see the doctor, she just kind of looked at me and asked me what i thought was wrong with him and she said what does she want me to do to help him and what do I want the outcome of the appointment to be?

Does anyone else think this is wrong? I said I wanted her to do some observations, check ears, throat, chest, temperature, mouth! And the other doctor watching in (student) had to tell her how to check his throat! I felt like such an idiot for taking him and I find it wrong. If an adult woke in the night hysterically crying, not eating with white patches in the mouth they would take it seriously wouldn’t they!! . Crazy 🤯
