He’s so cute! x
@Sakina it sounds awful but thank you! I'm sorry your going through the same but it makes me feel a lot better knowing I'm not the only one! I would be worried if he was lethargic or sleeping a lot. But he's so alert. Hes awake in the day and babbling about and then sleeps a reasonable amount of time at night. Which I am very lucky for! I've never denied him a feed. Do you think I should say the same? It just makes me feel like my milk isn't enough or something but he's had weeks where he's gained more then averages! It's all just in the percentile lines!
@Holli oh thank you 🥰🥰🥰 I might be bias... but I think he's pretty cute too 🤣
@Sarah adorable! Love the onesie! Long Bois unite? 🤣
Both my boys are long and thin 😂. Me and my husband are both slim and really tall my first was on the 50th centile for weight but 99th for height 🥲 so measurement wise the healthcare professionals were happy but my family weren’t 🤷🏻♀️ nothing I could do as I fed on demand and more It would make him throw it all back out 🥲 Haven’t had my 6-8week check yet. As long as baby is feeding/ lots of nappies then don’t worry about what they say xx
I'm in exactly the same situation, and was with my 3rd also. Everyone gets so hung up over centiles and chunky babies. It's funny really, cos as adults were obsessed with how slim we can be. I've had 2 babies that were absolute chunks, and 3 that were slim little dots and never seemed to chunk out. My eldest of my slims is now 8 and has only just started to fill out, I'm guessing the start of puberty. My 4 year old slim looks like an absolute athlete with not an ounce of fat on him, and my 1 year old chunk looks like she's eaten him and his sister for breakfast. We're all different shapes and sizes, it's the narrative we try to teach both children and adults but oddly we seem less accepting of this when it comes to babies. Not all babies are chunky little dumplings, don't be hard on yourself, accept them for what they are, don't stress about it and tell everyone else to mind their own. People nowadays seem to be so forthcoming with their opinions, even when nobody actually asked for it. You got this ☺️ xx
My LO is tall and thin too! Doc calls her “petite.” Took my girl two weeks to gain back to her birth weight and since then she’s gained a half ounce/one ounce a day but is around the 5th percentile
Absolutely adorable 😫♥️🫠😩😩😭😭 wow good job mama to be able to feed on demand AND pump and have some leftover to store. I wasn’t able to do that. You deserve to be applauded for that hard work, not torn down. He will gain weight my daughter had the same birthweight ans jaundice issues then eventually chunked out ♥️♥️♥️ take many picture you might be surprised how he and his weight changes in a few months ♥️♥️♥️
My daughter was predicted 9lbs and was born just 5lbs they get it wrong many times..... My first baby was super long and thin like yours and now we will see they said baby will be 7lbs not so convinced as they got it wrong before but I will see soon.
Both of my baby's where long but skinny, I was the same and I'm currently 6ft.i weigh ten stone. My lad 5 and in 7-8 clothing my little girl not even 2 yet and fits into 2-3 clothing. I had both of my kids in two different hospitals and had to have growth scams as they was they both was tiny. Its nothing to worry about xx
I am a tall thin baby mama ❤️❤️ Our girl is in the 98th percentile for height and finally in the 20th percentile for weight! You got this girl.
I'll try to reply to everyone when I can. I just want to say a big thank you to all of you ❤️ youve made me feel so much better about the whole situation and for the compliments on my sons pictures it's one of my favourites. I should have added as info. Dad is 6ft and average build. I'm a 5ft nothing chubby woman. However, my weight is heavily impacted from hormonal issuesnso maybe I'm meant to be slim. But also goes to show that just because a baby is big doesn't implicate height or build in the future!
This could have been written by me. My son is on the 2nd centile for his weight and 50th for height. Constantly in and out of hospital due to his weight and everytime it had an effect on my milk supply due to the confidence blow and constant pressure to give top ups / switch to formula. Eventually I had to tell the consultant that this was all so counterproductive, which led to them backing off a bit.
